Activity ideas

Below you’ll find a few suggestions from Sainsbury’s Active Kids for some quick easy activities.

For more activity ideas visit Programmes Online

There are also a number of ideas on the Sainsbury’s Active Kids website.

Scavenger hunt
Split into teams and the leader provides a list of items to collect (more points can be allocated for more difficult items) and a time limit. When the time is up, the teams have to come back with their collection and the winner is the team with the most points!

Four-way football
Set up a square pitch with four teams and four goals. The aim is to keep the ball out of your goal and score in any of the other three. The winning team has the fewest goals scored against them.

Volleyball
Can be played with any number and the only requirement is a net (or rope) strung up between two posts (or trees) and a large, reasonably soft ball. The aim of the game is to get the ball to touch the floor on the other side of the net.

Active Kids Big BBQ recipe tips

We’re sure you’ll be hungry after all the fun and games at your Big Adventure, so here are some quick and simple Active Kids recipes to help you create a tasty feast!

Sausages
Try coating Sainsbury’s butcher’s choice sausages with a mixture of warmed honey and wholegrain mustard after barbequing or grilling.

Baked potato
Scoop out cooked baked potato halves and mix the insides with soft cream cheese, chives and shredded Taste the Difference Wiltshire ham. Spoon the mixture back into the skins and put on the barbecue until warmed through and golden on top.

Corn on the cob
For a little spice, brush the cobs with honey, squeeze on some lime juice and sprinkle with fresh chilli.

Dessert
Why not try melting some skewered marshmallows on the BBQ and then dip in a bowl of hundreds and thousands or chocolate drops?
