Updates from The Scout Association AGM

The Scout Association's Annual General Meeting took place last month, giving attendees the opportunity to reflect on the last 12 months of Scouting and look forward to 2014.

The agenda included premieres for our inspirational new promo film Paths and uplifting montage of recent highlights.

Delegates were given the chance to analyse the latest financial figures from the Annual Report and to discuss progress on the Vision Towards 2018.

Tireless commitment

It was also announced that UK Chief Commissioner, Wayne Bulpitt will remain in his role for a further term of office, ending in September 2016.

Chairman of The Scout Association Sir Alan Craft said: ‘Wayne’s tireless commitment has taken Scouting forward during his tenure as UK Chief Commissioner. He provides outstanding leadership, and support, for our 100,000 volunteers.’

Bear Grylls, has also been appointed to a further term of office as UK Chief Scout, lasting until at least September 2015.

Sir Alan added: ‘In the last four years, Bear has championed Scouting on the global stage – and at grassroots. He is a superb ambassador, who has helped raise our profile immeasurably.’

You can follow Wayne’s travels and get his insight into Scouting at local and national levels on his weekly blog.

Catch the latest Bear in the Air action this weekend, as our Chief Scout continues his mission to meet members across the UK. Follow his progress on social media using #BearintheAir as he visits thousands of Scouts and adult volunteers across the east of England.
