Craig Turpie appointed UK Commissioner for Programme

Craig Turpie has been appointed UK Commissioner for Programme from 1 April 2014. He succeeds Alex Minajew who takes on the role of UK Commissioner for Safety and Adventure.

Craig's Scouting roles have included working with the Venture Scout and Scout Network sections. He's contributed to HQ's work in the areas of programme review, youth involvement and as part of the international team.

He was a member of the European Scout Committee from 2004 to 2013, serving as its Chairman for the last six years. During this time, the Committee provided support to National Scout Organisations across Europe as they sought to renew youth programmes, training systems, structures and ways of working. In this role, Craig was also an ex-officio Member of the World Scout Committee.

Craig said: 'I'm very much looking forward to ensuring our youth programme remains relevant and rewarding for all young people and that we innovate how we support and engage our membership in its ongoing development.'

Wayne Bulpitt, UK Chief Commissioner, commented: 'I'm delighted that Craig has joined our UK leadership team. We'll benefit from his extensive experience and talents as we further develop our youth programme and the support given to leaders delivering it, both of which we know are key to our continued success.’
