Reunion 2016 Reunion 2016, is celebrating its' 90th anniversary. Come and celebrate this years' event at Gilwell Park Scout Activity Centre on 2-4 September 2016.
Gilwell Reunion Mini Guide is now available here
Reunion was established to mark the occasion of the first Wood Badge course in 1919. The event has run since 1921 every year (except for four years during the Second World War) and is an opportunity for adults in Scouting to experience an active and educational weekend and to meet up with friends old and new from across the globe. This is a great chance to learn more about projects and programme activities, share knowledge, network and have fun!
You will see big changes for this year’s Reunion. Based on your feedback, we are going back to basics and returning to the ethos of how Reunion was founded. There will be more workshops and seminars, as well as an opportunity to meet with the UK Chief Commissioner and his team and ask questions. The event footprint has changed with us maximising the space to provide more programme and engagement opportunities for you. We will still have the film screening, campfire and, of course, the evening entertainment on both nights.
The Annual General Meeting will now take place on the Saturday morning of Reunion on the Training Ground. The marquee will then be used for additional programme and entertainment over the course of the weekend.
On the Friday night we’ll have the usual two bars at Reunion. We’ll have the Lid bar and disco, the Queen’s Squiffy Woggle Pub on Essex Chase with real ales and good music and new this year, a Ceilidh, disco a bottle bar on the Saturday night in the AGM tent till 01:00!
On Sunday, we’ll have the annual Scouts Own taking place on the Training Ground. This reflection session will be brought to you by young people across a number of faiths and beliefs. It’s an opportunity for everyone to come together to reflect on the last year. Scouts Own will be followed by a very special inauguration ceremony for the incoming UK Chief Commissioner, Tim Kidd. After seven years of leadership, Wayne Bulpitt will be formally handing over the role of UK Chief Commissioner to Tim. Please join us on the Training Ground from 14:00 for this very special occasion and an opportunity to say thanks and farewell to Wayne.
Tickets are now on sale! These
cost £31 per person for the weekend and can be purchased here.
