Microsoft : Internet Safety Training

To support the launch of the new digital code for children Zip it, Block it, Flag it, The Scout Association will be working with Microsoft to offer virtual training sessions to  all leaders who would like to learn more about internet safety.

On completion of the training you will have access to a bespoke presentation to teach Leaders the basics of how they can safeguard their children on the internet. You can run the presentations through your local group as well as through other community connections you may have. These will be virtual sessions which you can join at no cost from the comfort of your own home or work location. All you will need is a pc with audio that is connected to the internet.

The courses will be run periodically throughout the year and invitations to attend will be communicated to you through your Scouting Plus e-mail.

About the Presentation.

The presentation you will be trained to use talks about the benefits and safety concerns of the internet as well as introducing basic information on how technology such as social networking and instant messaging is used by young people. It is designed to build confidence and an understanding of the technology as well as providing guidance and practical advice to safeguard children and where to go for help.

Once you have completed the training you will be provided with the presentation materials and supporting resources that you will need to deliver the presentation
