How to organise a DofE course in your county

Counties are responsible for organising DofE training courses in partnership with the National DofE training team. Full details to support this process can be found in the County Hosted Course resource.

The responsibilities for organising and promoting training will be divided between the county and the DofE office at Gilwell Park as outlined in the table below.

Course fees

To cover The Scout Association administration costs and trainers' expenses, counties will be asked to pay a non-refundable course booking fee of £100, payable on DofE confirmation that they have two trainers available.

After the course an additional participant fee will be payable to cover course resources, The Duke of Edinburgh’s administration fee and certificates:
