Resources

Appendix 1: Base equipment shopping list

Stress balls:

Magic milk:

Toasting marshmallows:

Appendix 2: Turn ordinary milk into a magical piece of art

Materials:
The experiment:

  1. Pour the milk so it covers the entire plate.
  2. Place a few drops of food colouring around the milk in different spots. Be creative! This is your chance to create real art.
  3. Dip the cotton bud in washing-up liquid.
  4. Ready? Set? Go! Touch the milk with the cotton bud. You can place it at the centre of the plate, or see what happens when you put it in one side. You don't have to stir or move the bud at all, just sit back and watch the magic.

What's going to happen: (Spoiler alert!)
The food colouring will start to swirl and move in different directions, and the once-white milk will become a magnificent, colourful artwork.

Anytown Scout Group
Thank you for your interest in becoming an adult helper at Anytown Scout Group.

Whether you’ve got an hour a month or three hours a week, you could get involved and help support Scouting in Anytown.

We would like to have a meeting to discuss the opening of  Anytown Scout Group [insert time and date] at [insert venue]

The meeting is open to any adults interested in supporting the Group. You can find out about the variety of volunteer roles available, from  admin roles to working directly with young people.

This will be a short meeting and we will be joined by existing leaders and supporters of Scouting from around the local area.

We will discuss the plan for the next steps and have information and support available to anyone interested in volunteering. If you have any questions about Scouting before then, please give me a call.

During the meeting we will decide on the times/days of the section meetings for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. I will then write to you all again to confirm when the sections will open.

You can contact me by email at [insert e-mail address] or by telephone on [insert telephone number]

I look forward to seeing you on the [insert date]

Yours sincerely,
Mr A N Scout Leader
