Developing leadership in the Scout Network section

Network members can develop their leadership skills further by leading a team to deliver a Network project or event.

They can also put the skills they have gained through Scouting into action and work towards gaining a permit through the adventurous activities permit scheme. This is a great way for Network members to develop leadership skills in something they are passionate about, whilst also offering other members in Scouting the opportunity to try new activities.

More information on gaining a permit can be found on the activity pages.

Support Resources

The Get Ahead resource has also been developed to support young people to communicate what skills they have gained through Scouting on their CV or on personal statements.
