Scuba diving

Scuba diving is the activity of underwater swimming with breathing aided by the use of an air tank. The feeling of weightlessness and underwater breathing is both exhilarating and totally addictive.

It can be done in most watery environments, from swimming pools to the Great Barrier Reef and all that goes between.

Scuba diving promotes non-verbal communication and can increase self confidence whilst allowing young people to try something new and exciting.

How to run/provide scuba diving

There are 3 ways of running Scuba diving in Scouting. These are:

  1. Scout-led activity - running scuba diving yourself or using someone else in Scouting

  2. Externally-led activity - running scuba diving using an external provider

  3. Activity for adult groups - running scuba diving for a group entirely of adults
