Mine Exploration

Mine Exploration is similar to caving but exploring man made rather than natural underground passages. The man made element of this environment provides different challenges, hazards and surroundings to those found in a caving environment.

How to run/provide mine exploration

There are 3 ways of running Mine Exploration in Scouting. These are:

  1. Scout-led activity - running mine exploration yourself or using someone else in Scouting

  2. Externally-led activity - running mine exploration using an external provider

  3. Activity for adult groups - running mine exploration for a group entirely of adults
