Motor cruising

Motor cruising is the use of large boats powered generally by the power of an engine. These boats are often found on larger rivers, canals, lochs or the coast and are very abundant in areas such as the Norfolk Broads. This activity will allow the group to take in the scenery of an area whilst passing through it on the water.

How to run/provide motor cruising

There are 3 ways of running Motor cruising in Scouting. These are:

  1. Scout-led activity - running motor cruising yourself or using someone else in Scouting

  2. Externally-led activity - running motor cruising using an external provider

  3. Activity for adult groups - running motor cruising for a group entirely of adults
