Keelboating


Keelboating is an activity involving a specific type of sailing boat, the boats involved are designed to self right if the capsize due to the construction of their hull. These boats are generally bigger than dinghies and can be used on both inland and coastal waters.

How to run/provide keelboating

There are 3 ways of running Keelboating in Scouting. These are:

  1. Scout-led activity - running keelboating yourself or using someone else in Scouting

  2. Externally-led activity - running keelboating using an external provider

  3. Activity for adult groups - running keelboating for a group entirely of adults
