Digital Technology


Digital technology activities, for example learning to write code, build and control robots, or create content for social media, is a part of a balanced Scouting programme.

Digital technology activities can also include the use of GPS systems and other tools to enhance other activities. An increasing body of advice and resources can be found here.

How to run/provide digital technology

There are 2 ways of running Digital Technology in Scouting. These are:

  1. Scout-led activity - running digital technology yourself or using someone else in Scouting

  2. Externally-led activity - running digital technology using an external provider
