There are a number of resources available and sources of support, to help you plan your Programme.

Planning the Programme with Young Leaders

There are many ways to actively involve Young Leaders in Programme planning.  Below are a few tips and ideas of ways to involve them:

Generating activity ideas  

The Youth Shaped Scouting resources and Activity Inspirations resources contain activities which you can use with your section, to review and generate Programme ideas. The Youth Shaped Scouting resources also contain guidance on running youth forums.

There are many sources of activity ideas for your Programme, including:
Your section could also pick a theme or event to plan the Programme around. You can also gain inspiration from upcoming festivals, celebrations and national or international occasions.  The Prepared handbook  contains a year calendar, listing some events.

For adventurous activities, why not see what’s available at a Scout Adventures centre or Scouts Scotland Activity Centre. You can also run adventurous activities yourself, using the guidance in the A-Z of activities, at scouts.org.uk/a-z.

Module 12(B): Programme Planning in the Adult Training Scheme is designed to support Section Leaders and Assistant Section Leaders with Programme planning, and can be accessed locally.
