The Romford Incident

I’m aware that many Scouts and our friends in the Jewish community in the UK and worldwide expressed concerns to us following some of the reporting of the appalling comments made by an Explorer Scout at the Remembrance Parade in Romford. I thought therefore that many of you may be interested in a the article that appears in today’s Guardian newspaper http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/dec/04/hideously-diverse-britain-scouts-antisemitism which accurately reflects the position and comments positively on the steps we took to ensure that the young person concerned learnt from his mistakes. Congratulations to the local leaders and County Commissioner for they way in which they responded constructively to such an appalling incident.
