We are looking for local Scout representatives who can help us campaign on this issue.

We need your help to make Scouting's voice heard and to gather evidence of the impact these changes could potentially have on Scouting.

In return you'll receive regular campaign updates detailing what you can do to help us lobby Ofwat, the water regulator, and the national government on this issue.

See the many ways to get involved below:

Complete our survey

Please take just a few minutes to complete our short survey. This will tell us what the potential impact of these charges could be, and help to add weight to our argument for a social tariff.

Write to Ofwat

Please help us by contacting Ofwat's Chief Executive to explain the impact surface water charging will have on your group, and the need for the introduction of a social tariff to ensure those Groups that are least able to pay are not penalised for the rain that happens to fall on their roof.

Download a sample letter which you can cut and paste to help you in writing to them

You can email their Chief Executive Regina Finn directly on regina.finn@ofwat.gsi.gov.uk or write to her c/o Ofwat, Centre City Tower, 7 Hill Street, Birmingham, B5 4UA.

Write to your local MP

Please write to your local MP and ask him or her to help us make the case for the social tariff for community and voluntary groups by signing Early Day Motion 985, or you can email them now.

Write to your local paper

If you have not yet written to your local newspapers regarding these charges and the impact it could have on your Scout Group please do. If a story about the campaign has appeared in your local newspaper please let us know by emailing water@scout.org.uk
