Jamboree on the Air and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTA JOTI) are real jamborees during which Scouting experiences are exchanged and ideas shared using radios, phones, chat rooms and skype.
JOTA JOTI usually happens every year over the third weekend in October and Scouts all over the world join in.
This year, a special edition JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) will take place from 3-4 April 2020. This special JOTI will bring fun and education to young people's homes around the world. Learn about online safety mesaures and mental and physical health, and engage digitally as global citizens through a range of activities. Find out more here.
The Jamboree on the Air is an annual event in which half a million Scouts and Guides all over the world make contact with each other by means of amateur radio. Short-wave radio signals carry their voices to virtually any corner of the world.
The use of amateur radio means that many Scouts get the opportunity to discover the skills of wireless radio techniques and electronics. JOTA is also the only event that offers each individual Scout the opportunity to speak to other Scouts across the world. In 2019 JOTA took place place from 18 to 20 October 2019.
Jamboree on the Internet connects Scouts across the world using the internet.
ScoutLink Active Support Unit and volunteer organisations like Scoutnet provide the necessary technical support and server
capacity. In 2019, JOTI took place from from 18 to 20 October.
