Insuring your Scouting activities and property

Unity (Scout Insurance Services) supports you and your Scouting.

As a member of The Scout Association (TSA), Unity (Scout Insurance Services) provides you with public liability, personal accident and trustees’ indemnity insurance cover as standard. Unity is the only insurance broker operated for the benefit of Scouting; all profits from their insurance activities are returned to TSA to help fund the continuing development of the Movement and the 2018 Vision; no other broker does this.

Unity also administers the Public Liability Policy, which covers the liability attached to Scout owned property and authorised Scout activities and events.

Helping your Scout Group

Unity has arranged exclusive schemes with a Lloyd's syndicate to cover buildings, contents, equipment, event cancellation, travel and personal accident for occasional helpers, along with facilities to cover motor and marine risks. The schemes have been designed with Scouting demands and needs in mind to ensure the widest cover available in the insurance market. This means additional cover as standard, which may normally be excluded. For example cover for camping equipment while left unattended at camp.

Do your research

Checking you have the correct insurance cover for your Group, District or County/Area/Region is vital for protecting assets and equipment and for safe operation of Scouting. When looking into additional insurance cover check you have researched what company you are talking to and its area of specialism. If you find cheaper quotes elsewhere speak to Unity to double check the cover is what you need in case the risks of certain Scouting activities have not been fully understood.

Contact Unity if you have any questions about insurance for Scout activities to ensure you are correctly covered before the camping, event and expedition season. Call 0845 0945 703 or email scouts@unityins.co.uk.
