Fun times at Fundays

Almost 6,000 Beavers, Cubs and adult volunteers descended on Gilwell Park and Woodhouse Park for Fundays this weekend.

The annual, adventure-filled event was held across two Scout Activity Centres for the first time this year, so even more young people could join in the fun. Nearly 50 exhilarating activities were on offer, including climbing, zip lines and quad biking.

Face painting, bouncy castles and a fairground provided plenty of excitement, whilst the water slide was the perfect way to cool off in hot, sunny weather.  Thanks to our partner Pets at Home, Beavers and Cubs could meet and learn about different animals.

Fundays received an enthusiastic thumbs-up on Facebook from 13th Bristol Scout Group: 'We had an amazing time at Woodhouse Park. Thanks to all the organisers. Brilliant job.'

It wasn't just UK Scouts that got involved. Cub Scout Emma travelled from Brisbane, Australia with her family to enjoy Fundays as part of a holiday in Europe. Emma said: 'I love being a Cub Scout as it's fun and I get to take part in lots of adventures. Coming to the UK and visiting Gilwell Park for Fundays has been awesome!'

Check out our Facebook album to find out more and relive the fun.
