Dinghy sailing

Description
Dinghy sailing is the activity of sailing small boats, powered by the wind. It is a great way to get out on the water and even in a beginner session young people can take control of the boat and experience the thrill of sailing.
Who is it suitable for?
Sailing is suitable for all sections from Beavers through to Network. Non-swimmers and weak swimmers can still take part, however they may be provided with additional safety devices. You must have one competent adult to each non-swimmer.
Additional Information
Many Sailing Clubs offer taster sessions for beginners, which can also count towards the time on water badge. You can then move onto the RYA Youth Scheme, which offers leveled qualifications from Stage 1 to Stage 4.
The RYA website has a Find My Nearest directory that will help you find training courses, activity providers and events.
