Gorge walking

Gorge walking is the activity of following a river bed through a gorge. This often includes climbing, swimming, abseiling and scrambling depending upon the environment.

How to run/provide gorge walking

There are 3 ways of running Gorge walking in Scouting. These are:

  1. Scout-led activity - running gorge walking yourself or using someone else in Scouting

  2. Externally-led activity - running gorge walking using an external provider

  3. Activity for adult groups - running gorge walking for a group entirely of adults
