The Big Adventure

The Big Adventure is a great way to recruit parents into Scouting. By being actively involved in a camp or residential experience, they see Scouting in action, and are encouraged to volunteer for Scouting in the future.

It’s all about recruitment – Get your head switched on to the fact that by inviting and involving parents you could recruit more adult volunteers for your group, or at least get more commitment from the adults who currently help.

Involving parents in a camp is a way for scout groups across the UK to work together to recruit more adults into Scouting. Camps and residential experiences provide an opportunity to show parents and other adults what they can do for Scouting and what Scouting can do for them.
