Moot 2017, Iceland

The 15th World Scout Moot will be in Iceland from 25 July – 2 August 2017. The Moot will bring together up to 5000 young adults between the ages of 18 to 25.

15th World Scout Moot

The Moot program will start with an opening ceremony in Reykjavík on the 25 July and participants will have the opportunity to explore the capital city. Participants will be transported to one of the ten camps where they will spend the next four days.  The camps will be in different locations in Iceland, with each offering different program elements.  These vary from community, nature, adventure and environment.

On the 29 of July, all the participants will be transported to the Úlfljótsvatn Scout Centre for the third part of the Moot, which is called Althingi. The program at Althingi will include outdoor activities, workshops, roundtable discussions, challenges, campfires, diverse cultural activities and getting to know fellow Scouts and Guides from across the world!

The UK will be taking a contingent to the 15th World Scout Moot in 2017 and we hope you will join us!

If you would like to be a participant you need to have been born between the following dates 2 August 1991 and 25 July 1999.

14th World Scout Moot

A 200 strong UK Contingent attended the World Scout Moot in the summer of 2013 in Awacamenj Mino in Canada for 11 days of outdoor adventure and expedition challenges in mixed international patrols. They also enjoyed a pre-Moot event in Ottowa and participated in a range of post-Moot experiences. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore Canada and resulted in some great friendships from around the world.

The UK Contingent also united once more for a reunion event at Bradley Wood campsite in Yorkshire in March 2014. It was a weekend of memories but a chance to also look forward to everyone’s next international adventure.
