2018 marks 100 years of Rover Scouts, which began in the UK. Since its launch Rover Scouting has spread across the world. The UK will be joining in with the international celebrations of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) by celebrating our heritage and our Explorer Scouts and Scout Network sections.

Roverway is a European adventure being held in the Netherlands, on the 21 July - 2 August 2018, for 16 to 22 year olds. The overall theme of Roverway is "Opposites Attract", which aims to encourage sharing of experiences, knowledge and ideas to promote intercultural learning. More details can be found here.

The UK has a contingent who are attending Roverway 2018 to represent the UK. To find out more visit the UK Contingent website.

Every month of 2018 we will be releasing 2 exciting activity suggestions for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members. These activities will encourage Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members to link up, engage with their heritage and join the international celebrations.

Activities will be released over the course of the year, in 3 sets. Each set will focus on one of the key Scout Network programme areas; Community, International and Adventure. The activities will also link closely with the Explorer Scouts Challenge Areas; Outdoors and Adventure, World and Skills.

Here are January to April activities, which all have the theme of Community;

Here are May to August activities, which all have the theme of International;

It is recommended that these take place around 31 August to 2 September 2018, but look out for local communications to give you more information about what is happening in your area.

Here are some activity suggestions to run whilst at your RoverStay.
